Our aims

• Work closely with Shetland Schools to encourage and support Geology and Earth Science Education.

• Liaise with other environmental agencies to take a coordinated approach to education.

• Develop projects, activities and teaching materials that are specific to Shetland.

• Create resources in line with the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence.

To assess current educational initiatives, and identify areas where Geopark Shetland could enhance Geology and Earth Science Education, Geopark Shetland recently conducted an audit of all Shetland Schools. Information on the findings and future progress will be available later this year.
